Thanks and sorry for not keeping up to date with your blogs

I had a busy weekend last week and spent virtually from 7.00PM on Friday night right through to 10.00PM on bank holiday Monday decorating our living room.
I was exhausted but felt a real sense of pride when I had laid the very last piece of our wooden floor. Unlike on previous times when I laid flooring I had removed all the skirting boards to ensure that the real wood floor we bought looked nice.
Along with a feature wall that is wallpapered and new paint on the other 3 walls it has totally transformed the room. Even the sound dynamics have changed with the TV and sound system.
In fact I can’t get the rest of the family out of there to get a seat now!
I am hoping I can keep my wife from putting too much clutter in there as I am loving the feel that space gives.
This has kept me from keeping as up to date with all your blogs as I normally am and so I apologise for that. I have felt a little guilty about this.
Tonight I went to my electrolysis session and then had a formal chat with her so she can keep her records up to date with my transition. I will need a letter of referral from her in addition to the NHS letter if I can afford surgery at some point outside of the UK. I don’t have the funds now but really would like to have it done in Thailand if I can.
I am trying to find some sample letters to use as a template for telling my company about me. I want it to be clear and professional such that it conveys the right message. I also want to avoid putting anything in it that could possibly be used by the company against me should things not go to well. (I guess I mean saying things like I have been finding it difficult to get motivated etc)
If anyone has a template that could be used or any advice I would be grateful.
I would like to thank everyone who commented on my last blog, and in fact any comment on any blog. You have been a great source of support to me and I really appreciate that.

I'd say that renovating and redecorating take precedence over blog reading. Don't go feeling guilty! Besides, you're at a crucial point in your transition. Yours is the blog we're all glued to now!

I had never heard of a referral letter from an electrologist before.

I know many, many trans woman have had surgery in Thailand, hopefully with Suporn. I know only one, and she went to him for a specific reason: because his technique allowed her greater depth even without enough "material" to work with. I won't ask. :) I actually don't know if he performs standard penile flap inversion as well.

When I came out at work -- remotely, so the situation might be somewhat different -- first I told my boss privately. Later I told some colleagues with whom I'd worked for a long time. Finally, when I couldn't stand the dual role any longer, I told my boss it was time, and he had me work with our HR department. I think that's where the key is -- HR.

So I'm afraid I don't have a letter or a template. I hope that however you do it, your transition at work goes smoothly.

The amountof times I appologise for getting behind my blog reading I don't think that I could say anything :)

I'm impressed by anyone that can decorate with any degree of success - I'm useless and put it off as long as possible :)

Good luck in looking for the template, and in letting them know. I've told my boss, and HR, but did both verbally so also have no template. Sorry.

Lisa
how dare you not keep up to date with my blog lol

I dont have a template for a letter as OI had a face to face meeting with my managers.

I personally find the written word can be restrictive when trying to talk about what is going to happen and also the person may want to ask questions etc.

I will look throuigh my records to see if anything does help

xx

An electrologist/psychologist! Wow, I bet you don't find that combination very often. My electrologist and I chat too, but about boys, clothes, and fun stuff to do. Not quite as useful. :)

I have a dance instructor/psychologist (but he's not the one I see for therapy).

Lisa, I sent you the introductory emails to HR and my Account Manager.

As others have posted, when you have a Human Resources Department, you let them drive. Make your announcement and needs known to them and they should help you with a smooth transition.

Hugs,
Sophie

I'll be sending you an email with my letter to my employer. :)

Wood floors are awesome. We finished our house last year and we love it.
